Focus needs to stay on the 'learning' part of e-learning. There are many tools, tips and techniques when it comes to using technology but it's not worth a jot if there's no effort in making the content entertaining and relevant for the learner. When I first got into the web I was excited by the potential for creating new communities, sharing knowledge (for free!) and the creative space for new ideas to bloom. I haven't been disappointed! In fact, it's been great watching these phenomena gain popularity with businesses. I started out with an interest in journalism and desktop publishing that then grew into developing websites and educational resources. Since working in the e-learning industry I've watched technology evolve and we now have the ability to do things we only dreamed of previously. So now we have excellent and affordable tools for developing e-learning and years of experience developing successful engaging programmes - the time is right for producing excellent e-learning on a variety of budgets. The best thing about working in this business? That e-learning isn't seen as the second best option any more, it can really deliver on the promise of high educational value, entertainment and provide what organisations need to keep their workforce on top of their game. |
